PM receives foreign guests at 60th anniversary of People’s Police

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai received in Hanoi on August 15 chief delegates of the Chinese Ministry of State Security, the Lao Ministry of Public Security, the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Cuban Ministry of Interior, who have been here for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Police.

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai received in Hanoi on August 15 chief delegates of the Chinese Ministry of State Security, the Lao Ministry of Public Security, the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Cuban Ministry of Interior, who have been here for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Police.

PM Khai said the foreign delegates’ participation in the celebrations manifested close ties between the police and security forces of Vietnam and its neighbouring countries.

He praised the Chinese, Lao, Cambodian, and Cuban police’s cooperation with Vietnam over the past years and said he hoped the cooperation would further develop for their common interests in the fight against hostile forces, for national construction and defence, and for crime prevention.

The foreign guests expressed pleasure at the effective cooperation between the police and security forces of Vietnam and their countries and said the cooperation has contributed to maintaining the security of each county as well as peace, friendship and socio-economic development in each country and prosperity in the region..

They expressed their admiration for the great achievements of the Vietnamese Party, State and people in the renovation process.

The same day, Vice President Truong My Hoa, on behalf of the Party and State of Vietnam, presented the Friendship Order to the chief delegates - Sar Kheng and Samdech Norodom Sirivudh, Cambodian Deputy Prime Ministers and Co-Ministers of Interior; Lieutenant General Carlos Fernandez Gondin, Cuban First Deputy Minister of Interior; Thongbanh Sengaphone, Lao Minister of Public Security; Gao Yishen, Chinese Deputy Minister of State Security;  and the ministers of Cuba’s Ministry of Interior, China’s Ministry of State Security and Ministry of Public Security, and the General Director of  Cambodia’s General Police Department.

On this occasion the Cambodian Ministry of Interior, the Lao Ministry of Public Security and the Cuban Ministry of Interior conferred the Friendship Order, the Freedom Order and the Solidarity Order on the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and a number of units and individuals of the ministry, including Minister Le Hong Anh.
