Local situation for 2 years of executing resolution as proposed by Central Committee of Vietnamese Communist Party in 7^th session (9^th tenure)

According to report of the provincial committee of the party, during 2 years from 2003 to 2004, the GDP in regions where various ethnic groups are living has reached 5-6%. In these places, the national power network has supplied to them. Besides, schools, post offices and medical stations have been built there. All ethnic groups have been given health insurance cards to get free medical checks and treatment at public clinics and hospitals . Most of communes where ethnic groups are the major denomination have asphalted roads leading to their centers. Fresh water has been supplied to 60% of total ethnic groups. Housing estates have been carrying out to build for their settled lives according to resettlement programme as proposed by the local authorities in the following districts namely Vinh Cuu, Tan Phu, Long Thanh, Xuan Loc. Furthermore, 5 cultural houses have been completed and many festivals always hold there for various ethnic groups enjoying. Dong Nai has mobilized all levels of the society to raise money for building 970 charity houses to poor ethnic groups. The province always gives priority of entrance examinations to those whose families are ethnic minorities. They will be financed their learning fees and living costs as studying in the local boarding-schools and vocational schools. During last 2 years, all levels of the local authorities has opened many classes for 4,500 religious dignitaries and the religious with their aims of propagating laws on the religious actions. More 62,000 people who are joining the Communist Youth League and other associations through the province are various ethnic minorities. They made up 5.33% of the total members of the local Communist Youth League and other associations. More 422,000 people who are members of the local Communist Youth League and other associations have religious belief. They made up 36.3% of total members of the local Youth League and other associations. In the province, 441 party members are ethnic minorities and another 613 ones have religious belief. Ethnic groups and others having religious belief who are the major denomination in most of the local communes and hamlets take an active part in social work.

At the same time, thanks to good public relations, consolidation of local government and the party, the living standards of the local various ethnic minorities and others having religious belief have been raised higher than before as well as the public order is stable.
