Hospitals, medical centers, and People’s Committees of the participating communes and wards have completed preparations for personnel, facilities, medical equipment, and supplies to ensure the successful implementation of this important public health initiative.

Campaign to begin in six revolutionary base communes

According to Do Thi Nguyen, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Health, the health sector will coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and local authorities to provide free medical examinations for residents in six former revolutionary base communes and wards: Tri An, Loc Ninh, Phu Ly, Loc Thanh, Loc Tan, and Loc Quang. Each locality will offer free health screenings to 1,000 residents, including 400 people under the age of 18 and 600 adults, all of whom have not received a health check-up during 2026.

Priority will be given to revolutionary contributors and policy beneficiaries, social protection recipients, including people with disabilities, poor and near-poor households, senior citizens, children under six years old and those aged six to under eight who are not attending school, as well as freelance workers, unemployed individuals, and others not covered by sector-specific health management programs.

As one of three medical institutions assigned to provide health examinations for residents in Tri An Ward, University Medical Shing Mark Hospital has completed all necessary preparations.

Specialist Doctor Level  II Truong Quoc Chuong, the hospital's Medical Director, said that immediately after receiving guidance from the Department of Health, the hospital conducted site inspections and worked closely with grassroots health stations to develop patient flow plans. More than 30 healthcare personnel, including 13 physicians, will participate directly in the program. In addition to emergency medicines, the hospital will deploy portable ultrasound and laboratory testing equipment to support on-site examinations.

Meanwhile, Hoan My Dong Nai Hospital, responsible for serving residents in Phu Ly Commune, has established a 46-member medical team comprising specialists in internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dentistry, dermatology, and nutrition to ensure comprehensive health assessments in accordance with Ministry of Health regulations.

In addition to medical examinations, the hospital will present 500 gift packages, each worth VND200,000, to participating residents.

Dong Nai General Hospital, assigned to conduct examinations in Loc Ninh Ward, has mobilized 26 medical staff, including physicians, nurses, technicians, midwives, and support personnel. Specialist Doctor Level  II Le Thi Phuong Tram, Deputy Director of the hospital, said that after examinations, doctors will classify each resident's health status and arrange specialist consultations or referrals to higher-level healthcare facilities when necessary.

“Providing free periodic health check-ups for all citizens is a very important political task. The goal is to gradually transform the healthcare model from ‘medical examination and treatment-centered’ to ‘comprehensive health care, proactive prevention, and management of citizens' health throughout their life cycle’, with citizens at the center and grassroots health care serving as the foundation. Therefore, the health sector is requested to coordinate closely with relevant departments and branches to ensure effective implementation.”

Ensuring data entry complies with regulations

Alongside clinical examinations, authorities have identified the digitalization of residents' health information as a crucial element of the campaign.

Dr. Truong Quoc Chuong said hospital staff have received intensive training to ensure accurate data entry into the health management software system. Should internet connectivity become unstable or patient numbers exceed expectations, medical teams will temporarily record information manually before uploading all data within 24 hours after the examinations conclude. "If necessary, our staff are prepared to work overnight to complete the data entry process," he said.

Hoan My Dong Nai Hospital has also partnered with Master Hive to deploy a technology solution to enter data and update residents' health examination results in their electronic health records linked to the VNeID application. The hospital has fully equipped the program with computers, networking equipment, printers, and specialized medical devices, ensuring that examinations, result recording, and data entry are carried out continuously and in real time during the examination.

As one of the six participating localities, Loc Quang Commune has issued its own implementation plan and assigned specific responsibilities to relevant agencies.

According to Nguyen Cao Thanh Sang, Vice Chairman of the Loc Quang People's Committee, the commune has worked closely with Dong Nai Children's Hospital and the Binh Long Regional Medical Center to make all necessary preparations. "Residents have already been identified, invitation letters have been distributed, and communication activities have been intensified so that people fully understand the benefits of participating in this free periodic health screening program," he said.
