(ĐN) - As of November, more than 2,900 HIV-positive patients in Dong Nai, including 128 children, have access to antiretroviral (ARV) therapy.

Besides, over 26,000 pregnant women had received HIV tests. Accordingly, 18 babies born to mothers with HIV have been provided preventive treatment.

Over the past time, communication activities have also been boosted to raise public awareness of the importance of early anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment for people with HIV, especially for HIV-infected mothers, as well as provide information on ARV distribution locations.

Accordingly, the ARV use, particularly in the early stage of the disease, can cause huge reduction in rates of death and suffering.
