Economic growth solutions and key tasks to be implemented

Amid the historic autumn and with aspirations for a strong and prosperous Dong Nai City, on September 2, Vu Hong Van, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC) and Head of the Dong Nai Delegation of National Assembly (NA) Deputies, chaired a working session with key city officials to discuss solutions for economic growth and priority tasks for the city.

Also attending and co-chairing the meeting were Ton Ngoc Hanh, Member of the PCC, Standing Deputy Secretary of the CPC and Chairwoman of the City People’s Council; Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the CPC and Chairman of the City People’s Committee; Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the CPC; and Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC and Chairwoman of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee.

The meeting was also attended by members of the CPC’s Standing Board and Executive Committee, as well as leaders of relevant departments, agencies, units, and localities.

Politburo Resolution No. 16-NQ/TW dated July 21, 2026, on the construction and development of Dong Nai through 2035, with a vision to 2065, together with the Urban Development Law passed by the 16th National Assembly on August 24, 2026, provides strategic direction and an important political and legal foundation for Dong Nai to reorganize its development space, renew its growth model and enhance urban governance capacity. The city aims to make Dong Nai an important national growth pole and a driving force for development in the Southeastern region, while building a modern, green, smart, and sustainable city with synchronized infrastructure and strong regional and international connectivity. Accordingly, the city requires that each task clearly specify the person in charge, the work involved, the timeline, responsibilities, and deliverables. Difficulties and bottlenecks must be promptly identified and resolved to create momentum for achieving the 2026 targets to the fullest extent possible, thereby laying the groundwork for the next stage of development.

According to the Department of Finance, Dong Nai’s GRDP grew 9.81% year on year in the first six months of 2026. The city is now targeting GRDP growth of 11% for the full year.

Budget revenue has so far reached 71% of the estimate assigned by the Government and the City People’s Council.

As for public investment disbursement, more than 64% of the annual plan had been disbursed as of August 29. To achieve the 11% GRDP growth target for 2026, the Party Committee of the City People’s Committee has also formulated a growth scenario and assigned specific tasks to each department, agency, unit, and locality.

At the meeting, city leaders heard reports, reviewed, and gave opinions on sectoral economic growth scenarios; solutions to boost budget revenue; land auctions; the progress of public investment disbursement; the city’s master planning and orientations for developing a special economic zone; the progress of key projects, major works, and infrastructure connecting to Long Thanh International Airport; and implementation of the Urban Development Law. They also directed measures to address difficulties and bottlenecks arising during implementation.

Dong Nai’s new position has opened up major opportunities while also placing higher demands and responsibilities on the city. Seizing this historic opportunity, the Party organization, authorities, and people of Dong Nai are working with a strong sense of urgency to translate the new development vision into concrete programs, plans, works, and projects. Particular emphasis is being placed on achieving the city’s 2026 socio-economic development targets to the fullest extent possible, especially the goal of 11% GRDP growth. This target is crucial not only to the successful fulfillment of the city’s tasks in the first year following the establishment of Dong Nai City, but also to creating momentum, building a stronger foundation for development, and reinforcing confidence in the city’s future.

All difficulties and bottlenecks must be fully identified and addressed in a timely manner. Officials, civil servants, and public employees must be united in thought and action, accurately identify bottlenecks, select the right breakthrough areas, and clearly define responsibilities, tasks, timelines, and expected results.
