Among the city’s tourism destinations, several sites have established strong reputations and secured their place on Vietnam’s tourism map. These include Son Tien Tourist Area in Long Hung ward, Buu Long Tourist Area and Tran Bien Temple of Literature in Tran Bien ward, Suoi Mo Park and Cat Tien National Park in Tan Phu ward, Bo Cap Vang Ecotourism Area in Dai Phuoc commune, the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve in Tri An ward, Bu Gia Map National Park in Bu Gia Map commune, and the Ta Thiet Special National Relic Site in Loc Thanh commune.

Among the 28 tourism destinations across the city, Buu Long Tourist Area in Tran Bien ward is one of the longest-established attractions, having welcomed visitors for decades. To this day, it remains one of Dong Nai’s best-known tourism sites and a popular getaway in the Southeast region, drawing large numbers of visitors during weekends, holidays, and the Lunar New Year season.

Often dubbed southern Vietnam’s “mini Ha Long Bay,” Buu Long Tourist Area is defined by clusters of rocky outcrops rising from a lake covering dozens of hectares. The landscape traces its origins to stone quarrying activities linked to the century-old Buu Long stonecraft village. Combined with convenient transport connections, its distinctive scenery has helped the site attract not only independent travelers from Dong Nai and the Southeast region but also organized tour groups arranged by travel operators from inside and outside the city.

Having been honored as Vietnam’s most popular ecotourism area in 2024, an award presented by Intellectual Property and Innovation Magazine in collaboration with the Vietnam Union of Business Science Associations, Bo Cap Vang Ecotourism Area is now one of Dong Nai’s destinations attracting large numbers of visitors, with cool green natural scenery and a riverfront stretching hundreds of meters in Dai Phuoc commune. For many years, Bo Cap Vang Ecotourism Area has been a destination offering a wide range of land- and water-based games. To ensure visitor safety, Bo Cap Vang Ecotourism Area consistently maintains rescue and emergency response operations, thereby being recognized by Dong Nai authorities as a safe tourist destination in terms of security and order.

Son Tien Tourist Area has become one of Dong Nai’s busiest tourism destinations during holidays and festive seasons. Its centerpiece, The Amazing Bay water park, is promoted as Vietnam’s largest and most modern water park and features 11 facilities recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization after more than four years of operation. Designed around multiple themes ranging from adventure sports and cultural entertainment to underwater-themed experiences, the complex uses imported equipment that meets technical and safety standards. Visitors can also explore other attractions at Son Tien, including Tsunami Bay and the Magical River.

For visitors seeking a break from urban bustle, Suoi Mo Park in Tan Phu ward offers what many describe as a “fairyland retreat” amid the highlands, where tourists can enjoy a beach-like experience on golden sands surrounded by mountains and forests. The park also features a variety of activities, including inflatable obstacle courses and boating and motorbike riding, providing visitors with memorable outdoor adventures.

Beyond its major tourism hubs, Dong Nai is also known for forest-based ecotourism destinations featuring some of Southern Vietnam’s richest biodiversity. Covering more than 25,600 hectares, Bu Gia Map National Park serves as a vital ecological transition zone linking the Central Highlands and the Southeast region, creating a diverse ecosystem shaped by a distinctive blend of mountainous and lowland vegetation. Meanwhile, Cat Tien National Park, renowned for its international conservation credentials, has long been one of Vietnam’s signature destinations for nocturnal wildlife tours, offering a one-of-a-kind experience.
