Cambodia’s Visakha won the championship at the Dong Nai City International Volleyball (Open) 2026  Tournament after defeating Ho Chi Minh City Public Security 3-1 in the final.

The tournament concluded on the evening of September 20 at the City Sports Training and Competition Center (Facility 1) in Tan Trieu Ward with a closing and awards ceremony for the top-finishing teams.

Attending the closing ceremony were Vu Hong Van, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee, Head of the Dong Nai Delegation of National Assembly (NA) Deputies; Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai City; Ho Van Nam, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Secretary of Tran Bien Ward Party Committee, Chairman of the Ward People's Council; Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Cat Tien.

Also present at the ceremony were Aing Serey Piseth, Secretary General of the Cambodian Volleyball Federation; leaders of city departments and agencies; coaches and players from participating teams; referees; and a large number of volleyball fans.

The final between Ho Chi Minh City Public Security and Cambodia’s Visakha was a thrilling and closely contested match, featuring a tight point-for-point battle.

After losing the first set 19-25 to Cambodia’s Visakha, Ho Chi Minh City Public Security responded strongly, taking an early lead in the second set. They maintained their advantage to win 25-17 and level the match at 1-1 after two sets. However, Ho Chi Minh City Public Security narrowly lost the next two sets 24-26 and 19-25, despite taking the lead early in both sets.

With a 3-1 victory over Ho Chi Minh City Public Security, Cambodia’s Visakha was crowned champion and avenged its 1-3 defeat to the same opponent in the group stage. Visakha Cambodia also won the Best Setter award, presented to Soun Channaro.

In the third-place playoff, host Dong Nai City defeated Ho Chi Minh City 3-1 (25-13, 25-19, 24-26, 2-1) to finish third. In the group stage, the host team had previously lost 1-3 to Ho Chi Minh City. Helping Dong Nai City secure third place, Cuban import Duran Gonzalez won the Best Attacker award.

Ho Chi Minh City team received the Fair Play award and also had Tran Thanh Nhan named Best Defender.

The tournament, held from September 17 to 20, featured four teams: Ho Chi Minh City Public Security, Ho Chi Minh City, Cambodia’s Visakha and host Dong Nai City. The tournament provided Dong Nai City's men's volleyball team with an opportunity to compete against strong opponents, improve their technical skills and gain valuable match experience in preparation for the final round of the 2026 National A Division Volleyball Championship.
