The 2026 National Youth Badminton Championship concluded on the evening of June 7 after the individual finals, the closing ceremony, and the awards presentation at the Ninh Binh Provincial Sports Arena (Hoa Lu Ward).
In the earliest women's singles final, young badminton player Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen from Dong Nai City showed her superiority by consistently leading Ho Ngoc Truc Ngan (Ho Chi Minh City) in points. With this momentum, Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen quickly secured a 2-0 victory (21-11, 21-11) to claim the women's singles championship. Thu Huyen's women's singles championship affirms her position as the number 1 young national women's singles player in Vietnamese badminton.

In addition to the women's singles championship, Thu Huyen and her teammates in the Dong Nai City youth badminton team also won a bronze medal in the mixed team event after losing to the Bac Ninh youth team in the semifinals. Overall, Dong Nai’s performance is better than last year’s tournament in Hai Phong, where it won only a silver medal in the mixed team event.

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City won the gold medal in the mixed team event, Bac Ninh won the silver medal, and Lam Dong (the 2025 champion) won the bronze medal.
In addition to the team gold medal, Ho Chi Minh City also won two more gold medals in the mixed doubles (Phan Tien Duy - Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan) and women's doubles (Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - Nguyen Thuy Kim Hang) on the final day, concluding the tournament with a total of 3 gold medals.
In other events, Nguyen Tat Duy Loi (Lam Dong) won the men's singles gold medal by defeating Nguyen Dinh Dat (Bac Ninh) in the final, thereby successfully upgrading from a silver to a gold medal. The home team pair of Nghiem Viet Trung - Vu Manh Hai from Bac Ninh won the men's doubles gold medal.

The 2026 National Youth Badminton Championship, organized by the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Sports Authority of Vietnam and the Vietnam Badminton Federation, took place from June 2 to 7, with 20 delegations and over 200 promising athletes from provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide participating. Athletes competed in events such as mixed team, men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
Following her national championship success, young player Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen from Dong Nai City, along with veteran players such as Vu Thi Trang, Le Duc Phat, Tran Dinh Manh, Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Pham Thi Khanh, and others in the Vietnamese badminton team, will participate in the TOYOTA Phuket International Challenge 2026 badminton tournament, which takes place from June 9 to 14.
