(ĐN)- Dong Nai earned first win at the qualifying round of the National U19 Football Tournament January 10 after defeating hosts Binh Duong 2-0.
With this first win, Dong Nai temporary ranked 4th in group D. Meanwhile, Dong Thap maintained top position as they beat Can Tho 3-0. The qualifying round of the National U19 Football Tournament attracted 22 teams which were divided in four groups of A, B, C and D.
The teams are competing in a round-robin format to select 4 best teams and 3 second teams in each group with best results to compete at the final round scheduled for March 6 to 15 in Thua Thien-Hue province.
Dong Nai team is competing in group D, along with Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, Can Tho, Long An and hosts Binh Duong. In the opening match, Dong Nai was defeated 1-4 by Dong Thap.
The qualifying round will last through February 1.
