After the opening ceremony, the cyclists competed in the 1st stage with a length of 116 km from Binh Duong New city to Phuoc Long town of Binh Phuoc province. Ho Duy Phung of Dong Nai’s Vo Dac team, aged 16, excellently overcame his rivals to triumph at the first stage for professionals.
The event will include six stages, with a total length of over 600km via the provinces and cities in Southeastern provinces and cities. The cyclists were divided in two categories of grade A for professionals and grade B for amateur athletes.
