Fighters from HCM city finished on top with 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. Thanh Hoa ranked second while Binh Duong went third. Meanwhile, hosts Dong Nai scored 1 gold and 1 bronze medals to ranke 7th at the end of the tournament.
The event held by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sorts and Tourism brought together 145 fighters from 31 clubs from cities and provinces nationwide vying for medals in 18 weight combat categories for both men and women.
The tournament offered a chance for athletes to meet and exchange their talents as well as promote the movement of practicing muay in the country. The event will conclude on November 27.
Muay, a traditional martial art of Thailand, has been developed strongly worldwide and is included in international and regional competitions in recent years.
