Long Thanh Ward hands over sites for two key transport projects

Long Thanh Ward in Dong Nai City, in coordination with relevant agencies, held a ceremony on October 21 to hand over land for two major transport projects: the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh section of the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway and the upgrade and expansion of Le Duan Road through the ward.

At the ceremony, Long Thanh Ward authorities and relevant agencies signed records confirming the handover and receipt of the entire site needed for construction of the projects.

According to the Long Thanh Ward People’s Committee, the expressway expansion project along the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh section requires the acquisition of more than 1.7 hectares of land within the ward, affecting 138 cases. Of this area, more than 1.6 hectares is land managed and used by households and individuals. To date, Long Thanh Ward and relevant agencies have completed all required procedures, including inventories, verification of land-use origins, approval of compensation and support plans, land acquisition and site handover. One household eligible for resettlement has also taken part in a draw for a resettlement plot and received its land allocation decision in September 2026.

For the Le Duan Road upgrade and expansion project, the total land area required for acquisition exceeds 3.6 hectares. Of this, the section passing through Long Thanh Ward requires nearly 0.9 hectares of land to be acquired for construction, affecting 484 cases. To date, Long Thanh Ward has completed all land acquisition, compensation and assistance procedures and handed over the entire project site. All 14 cases eligible for resettlement under the project have also completed the lot-allocation draw and received their resettlement plots.

The Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh Expressway expansion and the Le Duan Road upgrade and expansion are key transport projects being implemented in Long Thanh Ward to gradually improve transport infrastructure to meet development needs. The projects will also help strengthen transport connectivity serving Long Thanh International Airport. The complete handover of land for both projects is an important prerequisite for accelerating construction, ensuring their early completion and bringing them into operation.
