Dong Nai attends 7th National Congress of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance

On August 25, the 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) for the 2026-2031 term successfully concluded after completing all scheduled agenda items.

Dong Nai’s delegation to the congress was led by Nguyen Thi Hoang, Member of the municipal Party Committee,  Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee, together with eight delegates who are members of the Dong Nai Cooperative Alliance Executive Committee.

The Dong Nai delegation participated in the congress with a strong sense of responsibility, voicing the locality’s perspectives on key issues and contributing to the formulation of orientations for the VCA system in the new term. The congress agreed to use member interests and cooperative performance as key benchmarks, while emphasizing the need to renew operating methods, strengthen linkages and improve the competitiveness of the collective economy.

The congress adopted key documents and the Charter of the VCA, while setting out orientations, targets, tasks and breakthrough measures for the 2026-2031 term. It elected the 7th Executive Committee with 90 members. Cao Xuan Thu Van was re-elected Chairwoman of the VCA.

Notably, Phan Huy Su, a delegate from Dong Nai and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Nhon Trach Transport Services Cooperative, was elected to the 7th Executive Committee of the VCA. This reflects recognition of the role and contributions of Dong Nai’s cooperative sector to the collective economy movement.

In her closing remarks, Chairwoman Cao Xuan Thu Van called on the cooperative alliance system to make a decisive shift from fragmented production to value-chain linkages and from individual support to building an ecosystem. She also called for “five improvements”: being closer to grassroots communities, understanding members better, representing their interests more effectively, strengthening connections and providing more effective support. The congress also called on delegates to translate the resolution into practical actions upon returning to their localities, helping build stronger cooperatives, improve members’ livelihoods and promote the effective and sustainable development of the collective economy.
