Beyond bringing together farmers who excel in production and business, Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Clubs in Dong Nai City are gradually becoming places where members can connect, share experiences, and support one another in developing production.

From regular meetings and field visits to trade promotion activities, farmers are sharing practical experience and replicating effective production models, helping to shift from fragmented production toward greater cooperation, increase the value of agricultural products, and respond more effectively to market demand.

Linking production with market outlets

Agricultural production today can no longer rely simply on experience. Farmers are now paying greater attention to cultivation techniques, product quality, food safety, traceability, and above all, market outlets. Therefore, bringing high-performing farmers together in clubs creates an additional forum for them to exchange experiences, learn from one another, and support each other.

At club meetings, members share practical experience from their farms and fields. Experienced farmers guide newcomers, while effective production models are introduced for members to study and adapt to their own conditions.

Nguyen Viet Vi, Head of the Tan Quan Commune Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Club, said the club is serving as a link among farmers, cooperatives, businesses, and experts, helping strengthen linkages in agricultural production and consumption. The club supports production-chain linkages, product traceability, growing-area codes, participation in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, and guaranteed outlets for agricultural products. It also supplies microbial preparations, transfers vermicomposting models for producing organic fertilizer, helps arrange the sale of about 30 tonnes of pomelos during the Tet holiday, and facilitates durian purchases. The club also organizes field trips and study visits for members to exchange experiences, helping them improve their knowledge and production efficiency.

Similarly, the Xuan Bac Commune Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Club, with more than 20 members, regularly holds meetings to exchange production experience. Discussions go beyond productivity and output to address practical issues such as crop care, pest and disease control, appropriate fertilizer use, variety selection, safe production processes, and cost reduction.

Tran Minh Tan, Director of the Xuan Bac Ecological Cooperative and Head of the Xuan Bac Commune Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Club, said the club plans to bring together high-performing farmers from businesses, cooperatives, and production groups across various fields to exchange experience, build production linkages, and secure stable outlets for their products.

“Agencies, particularly the Farmers' Association, have consistently supported the club in various areas, from technical training to activities aimed at expanding markets for agricultural products. Thanks to this support, the club is attracting more members and is expected to grow further in the years ahead,” Tan said.

Making the clubs more effective

Beyond serving as a forum for networking and experience-sharing, Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Clubs are expected to play a key role in developing the agricultural economy at the grassroots level.

According to Nguyen Van Giang, Vice Chairman in charge of the DNFA, in response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign “Solidarity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough to build a civilized and modern Dong Nai", the association's Standing Committee has launched a range of activities, focusing on strengthening and expanding Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Clubs. The aim is to develop the clubs into a core force in agricultural economic development, helping farmers improve their incomes, shift toward commercial production, apply science and technology, and embrace digital transformation. The clubs are also expected to encourage high-performing farmers to support poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in developing their economies.

Club activities will also focus more closely on supporting production development and strengthening members' capacity. The clubs will step up thematic meetings, the transfer of scientific and technical knowledge, and guidance on applying advanced production standards and programs such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic farming, and OCOP. Members will also be supported in accessing capital to develop production, while the use of digital technologies in the management, production, and marketing of agricultural products will be encouraged.

Another important task is to connect farmers with businesses, cooperatives, production groups, and buyers. Through trade promotion, market-linkage activities, and support for developing brands, trademarks, and product packaging, the clubs can help establish production chains linked to stable and sustainable markets.

“In the coming period, the DNFA will continue to support and improve the quality and scale of Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Clubs, while encouraging them to adopt green and circular agriculture,” Giang said.

The DNFA will also advise Party committees and coordinate with local authorities to organize regular conferences to recognize and reward outstanding clubs and effective linkage models, helping replicate successful examples in the movement among high-performing farmers.

Dong Nai currently has 75 Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Clubs. In 2026, the city aims for all commune- and ward-level Farmers' Associations to establish or consolidate at least one club of this kind.
