Four resettlement areas for Gia Nghia–Chon Thanh Expressway completed

According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the construction of four resettlement areas under Component Project 5, which covers compensation, support, and resettlement for the section of the Gia Nghia–Chon Thanh Expressway passing through Dong Nai City, has been completed.

Construction output at the Thanh Tam Resettlement Area in Chon Thanh Ward currently stands at approximately 55% of the total volume.

Accordingly, the completed resettlement areas include Tien Hung in Binh Phuoc Ward; Dong Tam and Tan Phuoc in Dong Tam Commune; and Tan Hung in Tan Loi Commune.

Under Package XL03, construction and equipment installation at the Ly Thuong Kiet Resettlement Area in Bu Dang Commune have reached approximately 30% of the total workload. Site clearance for the entire resettlement area was completed in May 2026. The project management board is accelerating construction, aiming to complete the resettlement area in September 2026.

Meanwhile, Package XL04 for the Thanh Tam Resettlement Area in Chon Thanh Ward has achieved around 55% completion. Major infrastructure works, including asphalt paving, water supply and drainage systems, power distribution, and telecommunications facilities, have largely been finished. Adjustments are currently being made to the project to ensure the area's drainage system is implemented in a synchronized manner.

Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure, plans for relocating the 220kV and 500kV transmission lines have been appraised and approved. Construction drawings for relocating the 110kV, medium-voltage, and low-voltage power lines have also been reviewed. The project management board is finalizing cost estimates and contractor selection, with relocation works expected to commence in July 2026.

Component Project 5 is responsible for compensation, support, and resettlement associated with Component Projects 1 and 3 of the Gia Nghia–Chon Thanh Expressway project. The project requires the acquisition of more than 1,000 hectares of land and affects over 2,100 households and organizations. To accommodate eligible displaced residents, six resettlement areas are being developed. The total investment for Component Project 5 is nearly VND 4 trillion.

The Gia Nghia–Chon Thanh Expressway stretches approximately 124 kilometers, running through Lam Dong Province and Dong Nai City. Of the total length, more than 101 kilometers pass through Dong Nai City.
