With an extensive service network and a large number of service points, the city's postal sector has maintained broad coverage. Parcel and delivery services, particularly domestic shipments, have recorded sustained growth, driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce.
Improving service quality
Dong Nai is home to numerous postal and courier service providers. The continued growth of e-commerce and rising demand for online shopping have become key drivers of the postal and delivery market.
According to the Dong Nai Statistics Office, revenue from postal and delivery services in the city increased by more than 30% in the first six months of 2026 compared with the same period last year. To attract customers and increase revenue, many logistics and courier companies have expanded their digital and value-added service offerings, including express delivery, urgent delivery, and cash-on-delivery express delivery services (ship COD).
Dong Nai City Post Office currently operates four core business segments: postal and delivery services, postal financial services, retail and distribution, and public administrative services. In the digital era, the role of the postal service is shifting from transporting postal items to connecting government agencies with citizens, and from operating as a traditional logistics provider to serving as a digital government service provider.
Speaking at a postal and telecommunications conference organized by the Dong Nai City Department of Science and Technology in mid-July 2026, Huynh Nhu Quynh, Deputy Director of Dong Nai City Post Office, said the company currently operates 284 service points across the city and employs more than 1,000 workers.
During the first half of 2026, revenue from postal and delivery services alone reached approximately VND95 billion, accounting for the largest share of the company's total revenue. The company has focused on expanding public administrative services while maintaining stable volumes in its key delivery operations.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, representative of the Dong Nai branch of J&T Express, said the company has established 93 post offices throughout the city. It continues to invest in human resources, operational systems, and technology to build a standardized operating process. Following the implementation of the new two-tier local government model, the company also proactively updated customer addresses after administrative restructuring to ensure uninterrupted services.
Accelerating digital transformation
To strengthen competitiveness, postal and delivery companies in Dong Nai are increasingly investing in network expansion, workforce development, and advanced technologies. Businesses are accelerating digitalization, integrating data systems, and working closely with government agencies to develop smarter, more transparent, and more efficient service processes.
According to Nguyen Hai Hau, Deputy Director of Viettel Post’s Dong Nai branch, service quality not only shapes customer experience but also directly affects business competitiveness and the province's investment environment.
He said that improving delivery performance, enhancing workforce quality, applying digital technologies, strengthening quality control, upgrading infrastructure, streamlining operational processes, and shortening sorting and transportation times would improve on-time delivery rates, increase customer satisfaction, raise labor productivity, and strengthen the competitiveness of postal enterprises.
Pham Van Trinh, Member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Dong Nai City Department of Science and Technology, emphasized that postal service providers should continue implementing measures to achieve their business growth targets while expanding service coverage, improving service quality, and contributing to social welfare. He described the postal and delivery industry as the "last mile" of e-commerce, serving as a vital bridge that helps narrow the digital divide while supporting public administrative services.
He also urged postal enterprises to promote smart logistics ecosystems, optimize data utilization, and adopt advanced technologies to further improve service quality, thereby reinforcing their role as a critical backbone of the digital economy and ensuring digital services reach every citizen.
According to the Department of Science and Technology, despite significant growth opportunities, the city's postal sector still faces several challenges, including uneven business scale among service providers, relatively low logistics and e-commerce delivery revenues for many companies, and the limited development of international delivery services.
