The meeting also served as an opportunity for the city’s leadership to promote Dong Nai's investment potential to prospective Japanese investors through companies already operating in the locality, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH), and other business networks. At the same time, it aimed to strengthen connections between Japanese companies and domestic enterprises, enabling Vietnamese firms to participate more deeply in global supply chains.
Opportunities for investors
According to the Department of Finance, Japan is one of Dong Nai's five largest sources of foreign direct investment, with more than 290 projects worth nearly US$6.3 billion in registered capital. Japanese enterprises currently employ around 61,000 workers, underscoring their significant contribution not only through investment capital but also through technology transfer and workforce development.
In the first half of 2026, several new investment and expansion projects by Japanese investors got underway. These include Long Duc 3 Industrial Park (IP) in Binh An commune, the manufacturing plant project of QBB Asia Co., Ltd. at Long Thanh High-Tech IP, the expansion of Olympus Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Phase 3 of YKK Vietnam Co., Ltd.'s Nhon Trach factory expansion project at Nhon Trach 3 IP.
Resolving businesses' difficulties is the responsibility of the local government. Enterprise satisfaction is the yardstick for the quality of public services, while their success directly contributes to the city's development.
Nguyen Kim Long, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai People's Committee.
Among the participants at the dialogue, Yuichiro Yano, General Director of Long Duc 3 IP Joint Stock Company, said the dialogue demonstrated the city's strong commitment to improving the investment environment. He expressed confidence that these policies would help Long Duc 3 IP attract more investors.
According to Yano, Long Duc 3 IP has received growing interest from Japanese companies looking to invest in high-tech manufacturing, healthcare, and food processing. Given its strategic location near Long Thanh International Airport and major seaports, he expressed his hope that Long Duc 3 IP would attract not only Japanese enterprises but also local enterprises, thereby fostering sustainable supply chains and creating greater economic value.
Committed to supporting businesses
At the dialogue, Kume Kunihide, Chairman of the JCCH, said the association had compiled questions and recommendations from its member companies regarding infrastructure linked to Long Thanh International Airport, labor issues, taxation, customs procedures, and administrative reforms.
Japanese businesses expressed hope that cooperation with Dong Nai would continue to deepen, reinforcing the locality's position as one of Vietnam's most attractive investment destinations, encouraging further business expansion, and making greater contributions to the city's sustainable prosperity.

Responding to concerns raised during the dialogue, Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Kim Long instructed relevant departments and agencies to promptly address the difficulties faced by foreign-invested enterprises, particularly Japanese businesses. He noted that the issues raised by enterprises were highly specific and had a direct impact on project implementation schedules, operating costs, and investment expansion plans.
"Dong Nai consistently regards the business community as a key driver of socio-economic development, describing Japanese enterprises as trusted partners that have made significant contributions through investment, job creation, budget revenues, technology transfer, and modern management practices," Long said.
He said the Japanese business community's discipline, reliability, commitment to quality, spirit of continuous improvement, and long-term investment commitment have helped enhance Dong Nai's investment environment while promoting responsible business practices.
To create a more business-friendly environment, Dong Nai will continue streamlining administrative procedures, improving workforce quality, accelerating digital transformation, and enhancing transparency in administrative processes. The city will also take firm measures to eliminate delays, bureaucratic inefficiency, and practices that create unnecessary obstacles for businesses. At the same time, Dong Nai will continue investing in transport infrastructure, IPs and logistics while strengthening connectivity among IPs, seaports, Long Thanh International Airport and key economic regions, helping reduce logistics costs and improve business competitiveness.
Long pledged to remain receptive, listen to businesses and stand alongside them, emphasizing that this commitment would be demonstrated not only through words but also through the pace at which issues are addressed and through concrete results.
