National Highway 51–Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway interchange set for substantial completion by end-June

According to the Southern Expressway Project Management Unit (SEPMU) under the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), the National Highway 51–Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway interchange is expected to be substantially completed by June 30, 2026.

According to SEPMU, the site has now been largely handed over by Dong Nai City, allowing contractors to proceed with construction. SEPMU is working closely with contractors and urging them to speed up construction to meet the completion target.

The interchange plays a key role in connecting the Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway with the Tan Hiep interchange on the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, helping establish a continuous expressway network between the two routes. Construction began in February 2025. Construction on the package began in February 2025. To date, roughly two-thirds of the construction volume has been completed. The contractor consortium has finished all 240 bored piles and largely completed the foundation works for the interchange overpass, including all bridge piers and both abutments. The casting of Super-T girders has also been largely completed, while girder erection is being accelerated and work on bridge deck structures is progressing simultaneously on multiple fronts.

The Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway stretches more than 57 kilometers, nearly 29 kilometers of which pass through Dong Nai City. The expressway is a strategic transport corridor connecting southeastern and southwestern Vietnam, while also serving as a key access route to Long Thanh International Airport. To date, approximately 55 kilometers of the expressway have been completed, with around 30 kilometers already open to traffic. Only two construction packages remain under implementation: the National Highway 51 interchange and the Phuoc Khanh Bridge.

These are the final two major components that will determine when the entire Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway can be completed.
