Dong Nai expedites auction of over 2,500 ha of land near Long Thanh Airport

On June 25, Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee (CPC) and Chairman of the Dong Nai municipal People’s Committee, chaired a meeting with the City Land Fund Development Center (CLFDC) and relevant departments, sectors and units to review progress in developing land reserves for future land-use rights auctions under a plan approved by the CPC’s Standing Board, as well as site clearance for several key transport infrastructure projects.

Reporting at the meeting, Nguyen Cao Tai, Director of the CLFDC, said the city plans to develop six cleared land areas, covering more than 2,500 hectares, for future auctions. All are located in the vicinity of Long Thanh International Airport. Of the six land areas, three are already consistent with approved planning schemes and have been included in the city's land acquisition list. All six have also been incorporated into the city's 2026–2030 housing development plan and are located adjacent to key transport routes with strong regional connectivity.

Addressing the proposed auction sites, Chairman Nguyen Van Ut instructed relevant departments and sectors to focus on resolving planning and land-related issues. He also directed the Department of Finance to provide detailed guidance on investment procedures, documentation and the preparation of land development projects for appraisal and approval in accordance with public investment regulations. At the same time, legal procedures and site clearance work should be carried out in parallel to shorten the implementation timeline, he said.

The city aims to complete all necessary procedures in the third quarter of this year to auction the three land areas that already conform to planning requirements, while the remaining sites are expected to be auctioned in the fourth quarter. Speeding up the auctions will allow the city to put the land bank to more efficient use, prevent land from remaining idle, generate significant budget revenue and provide additional funding for infrastructure projects, thereby supporting socio-economic development.

Also at the meeting, the CLFDC provided an update on compensation and site clearance for seven key transport projects, including Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4; Ma Da Bridge; the road connecting Ma Da Bridge with Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4; the compensation, support and resettlement project serving the extension of the Ben Thanh–Suoi Tien Metro Line to the Dong Nai City Administrative Center and Long Thanh International Airport; Phu My 2 Bridge; Long Hung Bridge; and Cat Lai Bridge.

Some of the projects are scheduled to to commence construction on June 30, while others have already held groundbreaking ceremonies and are preparing to begin construction.

Chairman Nguyen Van Ut said these projects are crucial to improving connectivity among localities within Dong Nai and between the city and the wider region as well as other regions, while helping to enhance urban infrastructure and transport links to Long Thanh International Airport, thereby creating new momentum for socio-economic development.

He added that the projects will also make a significant contribution to public investment disbursement and help generate momentum for emulation activities in implementing Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU of the CPC, which launched the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign under the theme: “Solidarity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthroughs for a civilized and modern Dong Nai.”

The Chairman required relevant departments, sectors and local authorities, project investors and the CLFDC to commit to clear implementation timelines for each project component, ensuring the projects proceed on schedule and meet quality and investment efficiency standards. The immediate priority is to ensure timely site clearance so that construction can begin as scheduled.
