Dong Nai is currently home to the country’s largest number of cashew-processing and exporting enterprises and business establishments, while also leading Vietnam in cashew output. Cashews from Dong Nai are widely recognized for their superior quality. The city currently has 63 out of 451 OCOP (One Commune One Product) products made from cashews by 37 producers, accounting for 14% of total OCOP products, including seven five-star OCOP products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Member of the Standing Board of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh, who also serves as Head of the Festival Organizing Board, emphasized that the festival is a meaningful event aimed at promoting the Dong Nai cashew brand, honoring cashew growers and industry workers, and inspiring aspirations of “Unlocking Value – Elevating Vietnam–Dong Nai Cashews”.

Dong Nai currently has nearly 176,000 hectares of cashew plantations, concentrated mainly in the city's northern part, which plays a pivotal role in the country’s cashew production, processing, and export industry. From a traditional crop, cashews have become a major export commodity, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers and contributing significantly to agricultural and rural economic development, as well as to local and nationwide export turnover.

Under the theme “Unlocking Value – Elevating Vietnamese Cashews,” the festival is also expected to promote the image of Dong Nai’s land, people and cashew brand to domestic and international friends; boost trade promotion, investment connections, market expansion and agricultural tourism; honor farmers, cooperatives, enterprises, scientists and workers who have contributed to the development of the cashew industry; and strengthen linkages among the State, farmers, scientists and businesses throughout the cashew value chain.

The festival runs from May 22 to May 24.
