In a bid to research and shape orientations for a synchronized and modern urban transport system aligned with future development trends of Dong Nai province, a delegation from Dong Nai conducted a working visit and study tour in China from March 22 to 26. The trip focused on urban planning, urban railway (metro) technology, financial support mechanisms, investment and transit-oriented development models.
During the visit, the delegation gained an overview of urban transport planning in major Chinese cities such as Beijing and Tianjin. In these cities, metro systems form the backbone of public transport and are closely aligned with broader urban expansion strategies.
As part of the working visit, the delegation visited and gained insights into metro operations at major, reputable Chinese companies and institutions, including 16th Construction Group, management authorities of Beijing Daxing International Airport, China Railway Design Corporation and China Railway Group Limited, as well as a rolling stock manufacturing plant in Tianjin and other locomotive and railway auxiliary units. The delegation also visited and worked with the Embassy of Vietnam in China.
The working trip provided valuable practical insights, particularly in terms of master planning, technology selection, investment models and resource mobilization mechanisms. Findings from the study tour underscored the importance of synchronizing transport infrastructure with urban and service development. At the same time, the visit opened up opportunities for cooperation between Dong Nai province and Chinese partners in the fields of transport and urban infrastructure development.
