On February 23, the Customs Sub-Department of Region XVIII held a New Year gathering and reviewed import-export management activities during the break of the Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Horse 2026.

According to statistics from the Customs Sub-Department, import-export activities across the province during the Tet holiday (from February 14 to 20) remained stable, safe and cost-effective. Total trade turnover exceeded 33.5 million USD, of which imports accounted for over 10 million USD and exports reached more than 23.4 million USD.
During the Tet break, a total of 623 customs declarations were processed. Meanwhile, more than 3,300 vehicle movements for entry and exit were recorded, along with over 2,700 passenger arrivals and departures. Most cross-border activities were concentrated at customs checkpoints in Northern Dong Nai, including Hoa Lu International Border Gate Customs, Loc Thinh Customs and Hoang Dieu Customs.
Speaking at the New Year gathering, Head of the Customs Sub-Department of Region XVIII Le Van Thung commended officers and staff for maintaining duty shifts to ensure strict control over import-export goods and entry-exit activities at ports and border gates throughout the holiday. At the same time, he urged the entire unit to promptly resume work and implement comprehensive solutions to fulfill the 2026 State budget revenue target.
He also directed affiliated units to focus on key tasks, including consolidating the organizational structure, strengthening anti-smuggling efforts and enhancing post-clearance inspection activities.
