In addition, the PM assigned the Ministry of Transport to check and add the two bridges into HCM city’s master plan of developing transportation until 2020 and vision after 2020.

Earlier, Ho Chi Minh City asked for the PM’s permission to build a new bridge to replace the existing Cat Lai ferry station to make it easier to travel to Dong Nai province.

Under the design, Cat Lai suspended bridge will have total length of 4 kilometers with 4 lanes across the Dong Nai River that will link HCMC’s District 2 and Dong Nai’s Nhon Trach District.

The total investment for the construction of the bridge is estimated at over VND5.7 trillion, including more than VND1.2 trillion for site clearance and compensation. The project has received support from Dong Nai province’s People’s Committee.
