(ĐN)- Long Thanh district on June 21 organized a ceremony to receive the title of new-style rural district.
So far, 11 out of 13 communes in Long Thanh completed all criteria for new-style rural areas.
In the 2011-2015 period, the district invested over VND9 trillion for new rural construction, more than 78 percent of the total came from the socialized capital source.
Accordingly, the district constructed 363 km of rural traffic roads, upgraded and built 201 schools and 42 cultural projects.
In 2015, the district’s annual per capita income reached nearly VND50.8 million and its average production value of one hectare was VND122 million per year, an increase of some VND58 million compared to 2010.
Long Thanh targets to raise annual per capita income to more than VND75 million by 2020.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh praised efforts made by local authorities and people and called on further efforts to improve the life quality for farmers in the coming time.
On this occasion, many 4 collectives and 24 individuals were honored for their contributions to new rural construction.
