Under the decision, only rambutan grown in Long Khanh town’s communes of Binh Loc, Xuan Tan, Bao Vinh, Bao Quang; Xuan Loc distirct’s towns of Xuan Dinh, Bao Hoa; Thong Nhat district’s communes of Xuan Thien, Quang trung, Gia Kiem and Gia Tan 3; Cam My district’s communes of Bao Binh and Xuan Bao; as well as preserved and packaged in the above-mentioned localities are named as Long Khanh rambutan.
As far as known, Long Khanh is the 44th specialty to receive national geography instruction protection, along with other famous specialties such as Central Highland coffee, Phu Quoc fish sauce, Quang Tri pepper, etc.
Earlier, Long Khanh rambutan had been voted by the Vietnam Records Organization, the Southern Fruit Research Institute, the Vietnam Fruit Association and the General Department of Intellectual Property for the list of 50 most famous kinds of fruit in Vietnam.
