(ĐN)- According to Agriculture Cooperative operating in Tan phu district, the cooperative is piloting the cultivation of Laba banana, specialty banana variety of Lam Dong  province, on an area of around 10 hectares.

Laba banana grown in Dong Nai province has seen strong growth and local farmers are expected to harvest the fruit in September.

In addition, the cooperative is deploying a large-scaled field model for Cavendish banana cultivation for export which covers 20 ha in Long Khanh township’s Suoi Tre commune.

Currently, local farmers sell banana for export at VND12,000-14,000 per kilo at their gardens that can help them earn higher profits.

The large-scaled field model aims to reduce investment costs as well as to produce higher output and higher quality for the fruit to meet the standards for export.
