(ĐN) - On March 15, the Dau Giay-Phan Thiet expressway project’s investor had a working session with Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee on site clearance for the project.

The expressway will have a total length of 101 kilometers with one end connected to the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway and the other in National Highway 1A in Binh Thuan province.

Total investment capital for the project is estimated at more than VND17.7 trillion

Under the plan, the highway will be split into two road sections and expected to break ground by the end of this year.

The first section will cover a length of 36 km, extending from Dau Giay in Thong Nhat district to Xuan Loc district in Dong Nai province. Investment comes from Government loans from the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA).

The second section will cover a length of 62 km from Xuan Loc district to Phan Thiet city.

Once completed, the expressway will help shorten the traveling time between HCMC and other southeastern provinces and ease traffic on National Highway 1A.
