(ĐN)- Vice Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Chanh on Friday had a working session with VinaXanh Company on the company’s suggestion for the project of developing a waste treatment complex to generate electricity in Long Thanh district.

Nguyen Duc Thinh, director of VinaXanh, said the plant will be build under advanced technology of Germany and European countries, adding 95 percent of waste could be treated to generate power, the remaining of 5 percent would be use to produce coal, fertilizers.
The plant will be built with daily capacity of around 3,500 tons to produce about 96 MW of clean electricity with investment capital of US$700 million.
The company will need an area of 150 hectares to implement the project and will prepare the feasibility study for the project if they get approval from relevant authorities.
Speaking at the session, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Chanh stressed that the province produces around 3,000 tons of waste per day which are being treated by burying or burning. However, the cost for burning waste is still high, thus the province is calling investors for building waste-to-electricity plants. In the coming time, Dong Nai will conduct technology assessment of the project in order to later make approval for the implementation of the project.
