Accordingly, 4 out of 6 taxi companies will cut their transport fees by 3% to 11%, or VND300-1,000 per km, while 7 out of 11 passenger transport providers will lower their fares by 2% to 10%, or VND3,000-10,000 per km.
Meanwhile, there is only 1 out of 14 bus companies registered to reduce fares by 5% to 9%, equivalent to VND2,000-5000 per km.
The provincial Department of Transport is currently inspecting local transport firms on fare cut as well as continues to suggest other firms to adjust their fares after gasoline prices in Vietnam have dropped to the lowest level since 2009.
