(ĐN)- Tan Phu district’s pepper plantation area is now being maintained at 2,000 hectares, an increase of nearly 800 hectares compared to three years ago, said Vice Chairman Tran Ba Dat of the district People’s Committee.
The rise was due to the high pepper prices over the past three years, bringing bigger profits to local farmers.
However, pepper production is forecast to rise sharply in the next few years, bringing prices down. Therefore, local authorized agencies advised farmers to focus more on quality rather than quantity, heading to a sustainable production process.
