In the period, the province’s GDP was estimated at nearly VND87 trillion, representing for 73% of the year’s target, up 12% against the same period last year.
The three sectors experiencing higher growth included industry and construction (up 12%), services (up 12%), and agro-forestry and fisheries (up 3.3%).
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 8%. Dong Nai enjoyed a trade surplus of US$300 million in nine months. Accordingly, nine-month export earnings reached more than US$9.2 billion while imports were estimated at more than US$8.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10%.
The province reported a high increase in attracting domestic and FDI projects over the previous year. Meanwhile, budget collections reached an estimated VND25 trillion in the, completing 73 per cent of the year's budget forecast, increased by 11 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The province’s public security maintained stable and the criminal cases and traffic accidents decreased in this period.
Addressing at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc asked the departments, agencies and localities to continue supporting local businesses to boost production, expand the export markets as well as inform the province’s preferential policies and create favorable conditions for investors to increase investment in the province
He also stressed that efforts must be made to develop the construction of rural areas in order to improve the spiritual and material lives for the people in the remote areas.
