According to the province’s report, of the 2,600 tonnes of waste generated every day, around 70 percent are burned or buried underground instead of being appropriately classified and treated.
Mr Sakamoto Keijiro of the corp said burying waste was not an environmentally friendly method and the problem was that the province lacks technologies to treat waste. At the working session, the corp’s representatives introduced their advanced waste treatment technologies that are able to turn garbage into coal and expressed wishes to cooperate with the province in this field.
Vice Chairman affirmed that the province would give priorities to the most effective waste treatment technologies.
In two days Sept 5-6, the corp made surveys at local landfills to evaluate the potential for recycling.
