(ĐN)- In recent years, the cacao-growing area in Dong Nai in particular and in the whole country in general tends to increase.
Cacao production in the province has been constantly growing both in quality and quantity.
Accordingly, intercropping cocoa in cashew gardens is hoped to help increase farmers' income while not affecting cashew yields. With 1 ha of cocoa intercropping fields with cashew, farmers earned a profit of more than VND60 million.
Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is now deploying programs to teach farmers the skills and techniques needed for growing, harvesting, and processing cocoa.
The programs are aimed at improving the lives of cocoa farmers and their families and ensuring the long-term sustainability of cacao farming.
