(ĐN)- Dong Nai's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Tin Nghia Corporation have just deployed a project of building large field model for coffee cultivation in Xuan Loc district.
Presently, the district has 1,250 hectares of land under coffee cultivation. However, the average productivity is low, only 26 quintals/hectare/crop, due to the small-scale production and backward cultivation technology.
Accordingly, the large-scale plantation areas for coffee are planned to be built in the district. The project will help local farmers improve their coffee gardens by providing them with new high-quality variety and technologies for coffee production.
Since 2012, Tin Nghia Corporation has cooperated with farmers to apply the clean coffee production model in many provinces and cities. The prices of clean coffee beans are VND400,000-600,000 per ton higher than those without certificate for 4C (Common Code for Coffee Community) clean coffee.
