Dong Nai takes measures to support firms hit by social disorder

Mr Mai Van Nhon, Deputy Head of Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authorities, said that  197 out of 198 businesses in the province hit by the violent worker protests against China’s illegal act have resumed business activities; the remainder, Amico Co.Ltd in Long Thanh industrial, plans to restart its operation at the beginning of June.

Ly Quang Dung, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Police Department, suggested the agencies and localities should continue educational campaigns to help the workers understand the Party and State’s viewpoint on resolutely safeguarding the country’s independence and territorial integrity, call on the workers to show their patriotism in the right way and avoid joining crowds that have a bad effect on local security and order.

Mr Chien Chih Ming, Chairman of Taiwan Business Association in Dong Nai, said Taiwanese enterprises would continue their operations in the province and hoped that local authorities would ensure the absolute safety for foreign businesses and investors by preventing similar incidents from ever taking place again.

Mr Imamura Tomofumi, Chairman of the Japanese Business Association in Dong Nai, stressed that further appropriate measures should be made to ensure absolute safety for investors and their firms, encourage foreign investors to continue putting their trust on local authorities, especially Japanese enterprises that are intending to invest in Dong Nai.

Over the past days, necessary support in tax, customs and administrative procedures has been provided to businesses to help them restore their normal operations.
