(ĐN)- The province’s corn output in 2012 is estimated at more than 332,000 tonnes, an increase of over 27,000 tonnes against the previous year, Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development reported.
The rise was because local farmers have converted nearly 2,000 hectares of unused rice paddies into corn fields.
The report also saw the increase of average corn yield, with 0.1 tonnes per hectare.
This year's crop, local farmers can get a profit of VND 20-25 million per hectare of corn after the production cost is deducted.
