Coffee export up sharply in 2012

(ĐN)- Coffee was the most outstanding commodity among the province’s exported agricultural products, reported Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade.

In 2012, up to 150,000 tonnes of coffee were shipped to Spain, US, Japan, the UK, Germany and Russia, a year-on-year increase of 57.5 percent in volume.

In the period, the province also exported 7,500 tonnes of cashew nuts to China, Australia, US and Holland, up 5.6 percent; while rubber export saw a year-on-year decrease of 5%.

Export prices of coffee, cashew nuts and rubber declined by 5%, 18% and 32% respectively in 2012.
