(ĐN)- There is a high demand for rubberwood in the wood processing industry in Dong Nai. However, wood processing enterprises in the province are struggling with higher costs of rubber wood. The price of rubber wood as the main material goes up to around VND 7 million per cubic meter, up nearly 1 million compared to year-end 2010. Many wood processing enterprises in the province decided to substitute rubberwood with timber species like acacia auriculiformis and melaleuca cajuputi. The price of melaleuca cajuputi in Dong Nai stays at VND 5 million per cubic meter while that of acacia auriculiformis is about VND 4 million per cubic meter.
