Pepper price rises in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- At present, the black pepper prices in Dong Nai go up to VND107,000-110,000 a kilogram, up VND 10,000 compared to the middle of March 2011.

(ĐN)- At present, the black pepper prices in Dong Nai go up to VND107,000-110,000 a kilogram, up VND 10,000 compared to the middle of March 2011. The prices guaranteed great profit for pepper growers, but the number of households in Dong Nai province having pepper for sale is not much. Most of pepper growers in the province have sold out their products after harvesting.

Dong Nai now has nearly 8,000 ha of pepper under cultivation; of which, more than 6,300 ha are in harvest time, with an annual average yield of 2 tons per ha. Pepper is one of Dong Nais major agricultural products.
