(ĐN)- Bien Hoa Sugar Company last year provided financial support of VND182 billion, including VND18 billion in non-refundable aid, to sugarcane growers in Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces to develop sugarcane raw material zones in the 2009-10 crop.
Accordingly, the company’s sugarcane cultivation area has expanded to over 2,200 ha, an increase of nearly 800 ha from the previous year.
In 2010, Bien Hoa Sugar Company produced more than 98,000 tones of refined sugar, up over VND8,000 tones compared to the target. It also reported a before-tax profit of approximately VND170 billion.
The company plans to continue to supply capital and transfer farming techniques to sugarcane growers to develop material supply zones and raise its output to 100,000 tones of refined sugar in 2011.
