(ĐN)- Nearly 900 hectares of pepper trees in Dong Nai province have been damaged by insects and diseases, according to the Provincial Plant Protection Department. High moisture content from heavy rains in April has created conditions conducive to disease and insect outbreaks on pepper trees. The three districts of Cam My, Xuan Loc and Trang Bom were the hardest hit.

The Provincial Plant Protection Department has urged local farmers to spray chemicals on affected pepper trees to prevent the spreading of insects and diseases, clean up their pepper gardens and dig the trenches for the drainage system during the rainy season.
