April’s results lifted total industrial production in the first four months of this year to over VND37.8 trillion, a 17% year-on-year rise, fulfilling 31% of the yearly target.
Up to 8 out of 9 key industries enjoyed high growth rates, including food and agricultural product processing, up 18.7%, textile-garments-footwear, up 21%, wood processing industry, up 18.9%, chemical-rubber-plastic, up 15.3%, mechanics, 19%, etc.
However, output of power and water sectors is estimated to fall 37.5 percent against the same period of last year.
