According to cassava growers in the province, the price of the sale of fresh cassava at the garden is VND 1,800 per kilo. With this price, local farmers can get a profit of VND 17-20 million every hectare of cassava after the production cost is deducted.

Local farmers cultivated nearly 15,000 hectares of cassava for the 2011 crop year. increased by nearly 500 hectares compared to the same period last year, according to the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The largest growing and production areas in the province are the five districts of Xuan Loc, Long Thanh, Vinh Cuu, Dinh Quan and Trang Bom.
Due to high cassava prices over the past half year, local farmers have expanded the area under cassava cultivation.
