(ĐN)- The current price of farmed pigs in Dong Nai province is over VND 48,000 VND per kilo, up by VND 5,000 to VND 6,000 as compared to early March. With this price, pig breeders in the province can get a profit of more than VND 500,000 per 100 kilograms of live pig weight. Strong pork demand and short supply caused by foot and mouth disease have pushed up Dong Nai’s pork prices.
Further rises are forecast in the coming time due to a decrease in the number of live pigs for sale, according to local traders.
