(ĐN)- Cassava prices have soared in recent days as demand has increased. The prices of fresh cassava in the market are at their highest level ever of over VND 1,900 per kilo.
(ĐN)- Cassava prices have soared in recent days as demand has increased. The prices of fresh cassava in the market are at their highest level ever of over VND 1,900 per kilo. At the current prices, local farmers can earn income of nearly VND30 million per hectare from cassava cultivation.
However, most of local farmers harvested their cassava crop in early 2010 and until later this year, the new crop will be ready for harvest.
Higher prices were due to a combination of reduced supply and increased demand from local cassava processing plants. World wheat prices climbed to over US$500 per ton.
