(ĐN)- Latest figures from Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade show a 10 per cent drop in the number of workers in the province’s pottery factories every year between 2007 and 2010. Now, a lack of workers for local pottery factories has become very serious. The low pay and hard work are the main reasons for the shortage of workers in local pottery sector. More than 3,000 people are now employed in local pottery factories, according to report from the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

Local pottery factories are currently experiencing difficulties in recruiting workers, especially skilled laborers as many of them have shifted to other jobs.
The Dong Nai province Pottery Association said that the current workforce in local pottery factories has aged, mostly now over the age of 40.
