(ĐN)- According to the Farmers Association of Thanh Son Commune in Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province, there was a 30 per cent decrease in the area under mandarin orange cultivation in Thanh Son commune in the recent three years. Local farmers shifted to crops such as mangoes, coffee, jacqkfruit… as a result of a decline in land devoted to mandarin plantation. Especially, “Thai” mangoes grown in Thanh Son Commune have distinction in taste and size. However, the commune has now a limited number of Thai mango growers due to high investment cost. In this year’s crop, the price of the sale of “Thai” mango at the garden was VND 15,000 – VND 17,000 per kilo.
