Environment authorities of Dong Nai Province said they have petitioned the provincial government to relocate the Interfood Shareholding Company’s plant out of a residential area before September 30.

Interfood – a producer of juices, biscuits and cookies – has no site for keeping hazardous waste nor does it contract out the collection, transportation and treatment of hazardous waste to a competent agency, the report said.
Last year, the company was fined many times by the provincial People’s Committee for environmental violations and forced to move its plant out of the residential area before July 31 but had been given an extension.
