(DN)- According to president of CP Vietnam Livestock Co. Sooksunt Jiumjaiswanglerg, the company is planning to increase its annual production capacity by 25-30% to satisfy growing market demand for processed meat products. To achieve this target, the CP Group not only establishes livestock breeding farms but also signs contracts with 2,500 chicken and pig farms in Southeastern region; accordingly, it has invested into the farms and bought their products.
However, in order to develop the breeding industry, it is necessary to stabilise feed prices and assist breeding farms, said Mr. Sooksunt Jiumjaiswanglerg. Besides, he also recommended higher import tariffs on livestock products and animal feed to protect the domestic industry.
