(ĐN)- Cam My district recorded real annual average economic growth of more than 10%. Especially, the average economic growth of the district was 12.5% in the first half of 2008.

The figure was reported at a conference held by the district’s Party Committees Executive Board on August 14 to review the results of the implementation of the resolution adopted by the first congress of the district’s Party Committee. During the past two and a half years, the district’s economic structure has undergone a positive shift: the share of agriculture gradually declined, while the share of industry and services was in the gradual upward tendency. The district government has taken measures to develop and enhance efficiency of cooperative economy as well as move increasingly towards industrial breeding. Recently, the services have been expanded to remote areas of the district. In addition, positive changes were seen in culture and other social areas.
In 2008-2010 plan, the average annual growth rate of industry will be 36.2% and the district’s total retail sales will increase steadily at an annual rate of 12.2%. The district will pay more attention in promoting production of healthy agricultural products for domestic and export markets. The district designed a plan to mobilize capital for period 2008-2010 for investment in infrastructural development in difficult villages. Accordingly, the district will focus efforts to mobilize over VND 1920 billion from all sources by 2010.
